Die in the Dungeon—Roguelite Dice-Building Adventure

Die in the Dungeon is a deck-building, turn-based roguelite where you don’t use cards—you use dice! Released in February 2025, this indie game by ATICO and published by HypeTrain Digital flips the classic deckbuilder formula. Instead of shuffling cards, you roll and place dice on a tactical grid to unleash attacks, defense, buffs, and more.

You play as a brave little frog exploring dangerous dungeons, facing hordes of monsters, and trying to survive through multiple floors. It’s cute, clever, and surprisingly challenging.

Gameplay

At its core, Die in the Dungeon is all about strategy and dice synergy. Each die represents different abilities—attack, block, healing, boosts—and you place them on a grid to combine effects.

Between battles, you can:

  • Add new dice to your collection (attack dice, boost dice, block dice, etc.).

  • Choose relics that give your dice stronger effects.

  • Encounter events where you make decisions that can help or hurt your run.

The game is roguelite, so every run is different. If you fail, you start over, but smarter and with new strategies in mind.

Controls

  • Mouse: drag and place dice on the board.

  • Keyboard: optional shortcuts for navigation and actions.

  • Very simple—anyone can pick it up quickly!
